At point of Referral and in partnership with the Placing Authority the young people who require the most intensive levels of support can be placed in one of our small intensively staffed homes. With staff ratios of a minimum of 1:1 and where necessary 2:1 these homes accommodate no more than two to three young people and are staffed by a team specifically trained to engage with young people with complex and challenging needs.

These highly structured environments allow young people to address the emotional and behavioural issues that are preventing them from fulfilling their potential and integrating safely into society. The young people have often been excluded from education for significant periods. The homes provide on site DfES registered and ESTYN ‘Approved’ education in a dedicated classroom with the intention of re-integrating the young person into mainstream schooling at the earliest opportunity.

Opportunity through participation

Over the period of the placement our homes are often highly effective at breaking the cycle of offending and work closely with the young people to address their negative behaviour and poor self-esteem. We consult with our young people on a regular basis and ensure that they participate fully in the decision making process that effects their lives.

Our homes offer a stimulating range of leisure opportunities that will be significant life memories and encourage positive integration with society and the local community.

Throughout the placement we will work in close partnership with the placing authority to ensure that the young person's progress is effectively monitored and maintained. We publish monthly progress reports that identify the young person's key needs and celebrates their achievements.
