CastleCare has established one of the premier provisions for the residential treatment of adolescent sex offenders (or those recognised as likely to offend) in the UK. Our specialist staff teams work closely with the young people to deliver a therapeutic treatment programme in tandem with leading specialists RWA (formerly known as Ray Wyre Associates) The therapy and close supervision ensures that the risk that these young people present is fully evaluated and that they undergo a forensic process of intervention designed to minimise the danger they present to others.
The specialist treatment programme offers
- A therapeutic assessment and treatment provided by RWA (UK)
- Weekly therapy sessions and focused workshops
- Support to acknowledge and address their offending behaviours and recognise their offending cycle.
- A dynamic and evolving risk management programme
- A progress recognition strategy which increases self-esteem and an improved perception of social values
- Every young person a support worker and receives frequent consultation time with an exemplary adult role model.
Our work is informed by the ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes and whilst placed with us the young people have an opportunity to gain a wide range of nationally accredited qualifications, such as GCSE and the Asdan Award Schemes. Our highly qualified teaching and learning support staff are tasked to ensure that every child reaches their full academic potential.
The home also offers a broad range of leisure activities, appropriate to the management of risk that provide significant life memories. We consider that consultation with our young people is our strength and their right so we strive to ensure that every child has a voice and is listened to.
