How we guarantee progress.
Many of the youngsters referred to us have had severely disrupted schooling and what experience they have had of education has often been very negative. This challenge is immediately met by our large highly qualified and dedicated education team.
When youngsters are placed with us, our education team (inclusive of a Special Educational Needs Coordinator) will undertake a thorough base-line assessment of the youngster’s academic abilities. The results form the basis of a highly individualised education plan which will direct appropriate specialist support and resources to the youngster to ensure their progress.
Achievement – 'A top priority'.
We place a very high emphasis on achievement. All our youngsters will have access to a broad, balanced and dynamic curriculum. A broad range of GCSE’s, ASDAN Awards and Youth Award schemes are taught to a very high standard, and consequently youngsters placed with us will achieve far beyond the national average for looked-after children. Many of our youngsters will attend college and achieve vocational qualifications and attain skills that will truly prepare them to thrive in our society.
